"Steve and his team completed all of our fencing, retaining and paving work at our property in Rowesdale when we built our new home three years ago.
The fencing consisted of a mix of wooden and concrete block. The standard of all teh work was excellent and we would not hesitate to use Steve again.
After three years the end product still looks as good as it did when it was first completed.

"There were problem areas in my garden but I just didn't know where to start. Steve came over for a consultation and offered suggestions around maximizing the use of outdoor areas, establishing a theme and replanting to achieve the effect I was after. He had books with images of various plants so I could decide, then and there, which options I preferred. He gave me tips on cheaper varieties which achieved similar results for areas where I was keen to keep the cost down and by the time he left I had a step by step plan of what I needed to do from one end of the property to the other, including plant names. We hired Steve to do the bigger projects and I pottered away on the simple tasks. It has been a huge pleasure watching my garden transform with Steve's help and guidance".

Tauranga based Groundworks Landscaping was formed in 2006.
Landscape professional Steve Macken is the owner-operator of the business.
His work is informed by 20 years experience in the industry and a horticulture diploma, specializing in landscape construction and design.

Steve says effective landscaping never follows a template, every project is unique. Steve works closely with clients to help identify
how they can make the most of their outdoor environment and he ensures that vision and those lifestyle objectives drive the project.

Groundworks offers a full design to completion service but is available for any aspect of consultation and landscaping on projects big
and small. He can quote from an existing garden plan or create a plan and supply.

Steve has project managed substantial landscaping on large properties, but is also happy to dip into a garden establishment or
makeover at any part of the process. Clients have hired him for a variety of tasks such as offering advice on one problem corner
of a small garden, offering a quote for an existing plan, executing the hardest tasks in a garden makeover, the complete establishment
of a new garden, and rescuing a project that has gone off-track.
